Tom Homan border tsar argues us justified by eliminating the ‘Public Security Threat’ Abrego García to El Salvador

The Tsar of the Border of the White House of Trump, Tom Homan, was next to the position of the administration on the return to the United States of Kilmer Abrego García, said the Salvadoran Justice Department that the Department of Justice was erroneously deported to a prison in his country of origin, and expelled responsibility for the state of migrants in an interview with ABC News.

Homan spoke with the co-presenter of “This Week” Jonathan Karl in an interview that will be transmitted this Sunday on the case and repeated the accusations of the Trump administration that Abrego García is a member of MS-13 and a violent threat to the public.

“We eliminate a threat of public security, a national security threat, a member of the violent gang of the United States,” he said.

Abrego García’s lawyers and relatives have denied that he is a member of MS-13, and gang accusations are being disputed in court.

However, much of the evidence that has been cited by President Donald Trump and his allies, such as clothing that argue symbolizes the membership of the gangs, have not been mentioned in the Court since the current administration began to litigate this case.

The Supreme Court unanimously ordered the administration to “facilitate” the return of Abrego García to the United States for a trial. Until Friday, the Administration has not taken active measures to do so.

When Karl asked about the order, Homan said that the Trump administration does not have the right or ability to bring Abrego García to the United States and argued that Abrego García is under the authority of the Government of El Salvador.

“I understand that ‘facilitating’, but he is also in custody: he is a citizen and national of the country of El Salvador. El Salvador would certainly have to cooperate in that,” said Homan.

“But again, I am out of that cycle. I am not a lawyer. I am not litigating this case. We will do what the law says we have to do, but I think that and I respect the fact [that] I think we did the right thing here, “he said.

Homan also joined Trump and other Republicans in his criticisms to Senator Chris van Hollen, D-Md., Who traveled to El Salvador this week and met with Abrego García.

“You know, what bothers me more than that is that an American senator traveled to El Salvador in the taxpayer to meet to meet a member of the MS-13 gang, [a] Public security threat, terrorist, “said Homan, without providing evidence that Van Hollen is using taxpayers money for the trip.

When ABC News communicated with Van Hollen’s office to comment on how the trip was financed, his office replied: “The senator traveled in his official capacity with the bipartisan approval to follow up on the case of a constituent and monitor the foreign assistance programs of the United States. Commercial.”

Abrego García has never been convicted of a crime in the United States, and his wife, Jennifer Vásquez, told ABC News on Wednesday that her husband “has never been convicted of anything.”

Homan accused the senator of not taking the time to meet with the victims of the MS-13 gang members in his state and the inaction under the Biden administration to address border concerns.

“What worries me is that Van Hollen never went to the border for the last four years under Joe Biden … What surprises me is that he remained silent with the parody that happened on the southern border. Many people died, thousands of people died,” he said.

Upon returning to the United States, Van Hollen told reporters that his trip was more than the case of Abrego García.

“This case is not just a man, as important as he is,” said Van Hollen. “It is about protecting fundamental freedoms and the fundamental principle in the constitution of due process that protects all those who reside in the United States.”
