London – The United States and Russia are expected to publish a joint statement on Tuesday that details the results of the last bilateral meeting in Saudi Arabia that discuss a potential path towards peace in Ukraine, the Russian state media reported.
The closed door conversations on Monday at Riad lasted 12 hours, a source told the Tassian State Media Agency. A source told the Media Agency of the State of Ria Novosti that a joint statement on the negotiations will be issued on Tuesday.
Grigory Karasin, president of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council, who participated in the conversations in Riad, told Tass that “the dialogue was detailed and complex but quite useful for us and for Americans.” Karasin added: “We discussed numerous issues.”
The conversations were expected to include discussions about a high fire in the black Sea, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday, journalists on Monday. That proposal, said Peskov, came from President Donald Trump and was agreed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

A pause proposed in long -range attacks against energy and other critical infrastructure objectives was also expected to be part of the discussions. Although Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy agreed to the proposal in principle last week, cross -border attacks have continued.
American and Ukrainian representatives made conversations after the US meeting with the Russian team concluded, said a source familiar with the discussions to ABC News.
On Monday, responding to another round of Russian missiles and attacks with unmanned planes against Ukrainian cities, Zelenskyy wrote on social networks that “the war was brought from Russia and it is Russia that the war must be expelled. They must be forced to peace. They are those that must be pressed to guarantee security.”
On Monday night until Tuesday, the Ukraine Air Force said Russia launched a missile and 139 drones to the country, of which 78 drones were demolished and 34 lost in flight without causing damage.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said its forces knocked down five Ukrainian drones about busy Crimea.
