The suspect, the 20 -year -old FSU student Phoenix Ikner, arrived at the parking lot of the campus around 11 in the morning and stayed in the area for about an hour, entering and leaving his car, police said.

Ikner left the garage at 11:51 am, police said, and then between 11:56 and 11:57 am began to shoot a gun, police said. The shooting was reported to 911 at 11:58 am, police said.

At noon, Ikner was shot by the officers and detained, police said. It is expected to survive.

“When I heard what had happened, I was frantic, I thought he could be the painful. And then, when I discovered that it was, I collapsed at work,” said Ikner’s biological mother, Anne-Mari Eriksen, ABC News on Friday in his first comments from the shooting. “There is so much to say about this, but I can’t speak without crying. We need time to process all this.”

A murdered victim was identified as Tiru Chabba, a husband and father of two 45 -year -old children who was an employee of a campus seller.

“Chabba’s family is going through the unimaginable now,” said his Bakari Sellers family lawyer in a statement. “Instead of hiding Easter eggs and visiting friends and family, they are living a nightmare.”

The other victim was identified as Robert Morales.

Morales was previously a soccer assistant coach in Leon High School, where he demonstrated “dedication, integrity and a true passion for the mentoring of young athletes,” said Leon High Athletics in a statement.

“His commitment to the game and to shape the life of his players extended far beyond the field,” the statement said. “Its legacy of leadership, compassion and service will continue to be part of the tradition of Leon Lions.”

Medical care officials from Tallahasee Memorial said the hospital received six patients, all in stable condition.

The six are expected to carry out complete recoveries and two of them can be released on Friday, authorities said.

The authorities revealed that the skeh of the suspect, Jessica Ikner, is current deputy of the local office of the Sheriff of the County of Leon. While the authorities identified Jessica Ikner as the mother of the suspect, the judicial documents indicate that she is her stepmother.

Phoenix Ikner had access to one of his stepmother’s personal weapons, which was one of the weapons found in the scene, said Sheriff Walter McNeil. He is still in the hospital and will not be accused or prosecuted until he is discharged, police said. He has also invoked his right to remain silent.

Jessica Ikner, who was on service as an officer of school resources in a school secondary at the time of shooting, has taken an indefinite personal permit of absence, said the sheriff’s office.

The Sheriff’s office said it has launched an internal investigation, but so far has not found any sign that the veteran deputy violated any policy.

In a statement to the community of the Florida State University, President Richard McCullough described the shooting as an “act of tragic and meaningless violence.”

President Donald Trump said Thursday that he has the “obligation to protect” the second amendment when an Oval office asked him if he sees something “broken” with the current weapons laws of the United States.

“Look, I am a great defender of the second amendment. I have been from the beginning. I protected it, and these things are terrible, but the weapon does not make the shooting. People do it. It is a phrase that is probably used too often,” Trump said.

“I will tell you that it is a shame,” he said about the shooting.
