The army will be ‘bigger’ to mark its 250º. Could it be the military parade that Trump wants?

The US Army. UU. He says he is looking for options to make his 250th birthday celebration in June “larger”, with possible manifestations and exhibitions of vehicles in the National Shopping Center in an event of several days that could also include a military parade, although the authorities say no decisions have been made.

The Army celebration, which has been in process for several months, has fed the speculation that President Donald Trump will try to convert the event into the type of great military parade he wanted in his first administration. Trump shares a birthday with the army on June 14.

ABC News has communicated with the White House to comment.

DC city officials told journalists this week that they had approached them on a parade route from the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, Washington. Two other US officials confirmed that a military parade was under discussion, although it was not clear how big the parade would be.

“Military tanks in our streets would not be good. If military tanks were used, they should be accompanied with many millions of dollars to repair the roads,” said the mayor of DC, Muriel Bowser.

Heather Hagan, an American army spokeswoman, said Tuesday that a decision on the parade was “prediction.” He pointed out that the army plans to celebrate his birthday with “multiple events” that lead to June 14, including a festival in the National Mall.

“We intend to hold a national celebration to increase pride in the United States and the United States Army,” he wrote in a statement. “Given the significant milestone of 250 years, the army is exploring options to make the celebration larger, with more capacity demonstrations, static equipment screens and more commitment to the community.”

Trump’s vision in 2018 for a parade included old airplanes and combat planes that leave the streets of Washington with heavy tanks below. But the event never materialized when city officials backed up and cost estimates exceeded dozens of millions of dollars.

If a parade was carried out, the city infrastructure would significantly affect, according to city officials. Bowser said the 14th street bridge would need to be tested before the event.

The iconic bridge has suffered several significant repairs and maintenance in recent decades, especially after the accident of Air Florida Florida in 1982.
